What is a genuine multi-day buggy raid?
A multi-day buggy raid is a motorized journey, not a short tourist activity. With RAID CARAIBES SSV, participants join a small group, follow a prepared route and combine driving, stages, recovery and shared moments. Vehicle, logistics, lodging, meals, fuel, assistance and guidance are integrated into one operation.
Why start from Las Terrenas?
Las Terrenas is on the Samaná Peninsula, where tropical tracks, elevation, rural areas, coastline and varied landscapes meet. Camp Can-Am is the welcome and preparation base. Exact routes remain adaptable to conditions, permissions, terrain and operational feasibility.
Which raid should you choose?
Discovery Raid lasts 7 days with 3 raid days and suits a first progressive experience. Grand Raid lasts 10 days with 6 raid days and offers more stages and immersion. Expedition Raid lasts 13 days with 9 raid days for participants seeking the most complete and demanding format.
Which vehicle is used?
The official vehicle is the 240 HP Can-Am Maverick R X RC 2026 with a Rotax 999T Turbo engine. Every driver receives a briefing and ability test. Helmet and protection are mandatory. A professional-driver passenger experience is also available.
What does the price include?
Packages include planned transfers, Camp Can-Am welcome, the Can-Am, fuel, lodging, meals, non-alcoholic drinks, driver kit, photos, assistance and guidance. Prices are per driver. A private buggy is required to carry a companion in the same vehicle, and the supplement applies once per buggy.
How do you prepare a booking?
Choose the package and preferred period, then state the number of drivers, companions and buggies. Booking is confirmed after feasibility is validated and a 50% deposit is paid. A USD 4,000 security deposit is required before departure. Review the detailed terms before committing.
Who is the experience for?
It is for travelers attracted to driving, adventure and landscapes who still want structured organization. Beginners may be accepted after validation. Groups of at least 3 drivers can request private dates, subject to availability.
Shared buggy, private buggy and companion
The base rate is stated per driver with a shared-buggy organization. When a driver wants a dedicated machine, the private-buggy option is charged once per vehicle. The driver may ride alone or carry a companion. In that case, a private buggy is mandatory, but the companion does not pay a second full package. This configuration should be stated in the enquiry so the correct number of vehicles can be prepared.
Safety, insurance and responsibility
Before departure, every driver receives a briefing and completes an ability test. Helmet and protective equipment are mandatory for drivers and companions. Insurance is included, while additional personal liability and travel insurance covering motorized activities are recommended. Damage attributable to the driver may be deducted from the USD 4,000 security deposit. The booking terms explain responsibilities in detail.
What should you bring?
The driver kit includes the official jersey, balaclava, helmet and protective mask or goggles. It is still useful to bring light clothing for recovery time, closed shoes, sun protection, personal items and travel documents. Specific requirements are confirmed before departure according to duration, season and route.
Scheduled dates or a private departure
Several dates are offered during the year. A group of at least three drivers may also request custom dates, provided each driver books a private buggy. Confirmation depends on vehicles, lodging, guiding team availability and logistical feasibility.
