What is included in a RAID CARAIBES SSV raid?
Scheduled transfers, selected lodging, planned meals and soft drinks, Can-Am Maverick, fuel, driver gear, briefing, professional guide, trail support and photos are included according to the program.
Are airport transfers included?
Yes. Scheduled transfers between the airport or agreed meeting point and Camp Can-Am are organized using travel details confirmed with the team.
Where does the raid start?
Welcome and departure are organized at Camp Can-Am on Avenida Emilio Prud’Homme in Las Terrenas, Samaná.
How many days does the stay last?
Discovery Raid lasts 7 days with 3 raid days, Grand Raid lasts 10 days with 6 raid days and Expedition Raid lasts 13 days with 9 raid days.
How is this different from a regular buggy excursion?
A tourist excursion usually lasts a few hours. Our experiences are multi-day stays with route planning, lodging, meals, transfers, premium Can-Am vehicles, guide and support.
Which vehicles are used?
The raids use prepared 2026 Can-Am Maverick R X RC vehicles with 240 hp, checked by the team.
Is the raid suitable for couples and groups?
Yes. A driver may bring a companion in a private buggy. Groups of at least three drivers may request a private departure on their preferred dates.

Do I need to be an experienced driver?
No. Beginners can join if guided and validated. An ability test is done on arrival.
Is a driving licence required?
Yes. Drivers must be at least 18 and hold a valid car driving licence.
How many people in a buggy with professional driver?
The setup is 1 professional driver at the wheel and 1 passenger maximum per buggy. There is no seat for an additional companion in that buggy.
Who is our guide driver?
Our guide driver is a professional motorsport pilot, raid expert and multiple-time champion in different categories. He has known the country for more than 25 years.
Can I participate without driving?
Yes. The passenger experience with professional driver lets you enjoy the raid without driving. A RAID CARAIBES SSV professional driver takes the wheel for you. This option is guaranteed on every departure and is offered at the same price as a classic pilot.
Can I come with a companion?
Yes. If a pilot wants to bring a companion in the same buggy, they must choose the private buggy option. The companion does not pay a second full package.
How does the private buggy work?
The Can-Am Maverick is reserved for the pilot. They can ride alone or with a companion. The supplement applies once per vehicle.
Can the companion drive?
They may alternate driving if their level is validated by the team, depending on raid conditions and safety rules.
Is lodging included?
Yes. Lodging is included for the pilot and companion within the private buggy format.
Are meals and drinks included?
Yes, meals and soft drinks are included. Alcoholic beverages are not included.
Is fuel included?
Yes, fuel is included.
What is included in the pilot kit?
Official raid jersey, balaclava, helmet and protective mask or goggles. Pilot and companion receive the same kit and keep it at the end.
Are photos included?
Yes. Photos are taken throughout the adventure and shared with participants.
Is insurance included?
Yes, insurance is included. Additional personal liability coverage is recommended for serious accidents.
Is there a deposit?
Yes. A 4,000 USD deposit is required before departure and returned at the end if no damage or amount due is identified.
Can a raid be privatized?
Yes, from a minimum of 3 pilots, each with a private buggy. Custom dates depend on availability and logistical feasibility.
How do I book?
By WhatsApp, form or email. Booking is confirmed only after availability is validated and the deposit payment is received.
What deposit is required?
50% on booking and 50% 10 days before arrival. For approved cash payments, the balance may be paid on site in cash.
What happens in difficult weather?
The team adapts the organization according to safety, terrain and feasibility. Some stages may be modified.
What happens in case of breakage or mechanical issue?
Technical assistance will do what is necessary to help the pilot continue. If not possible, return to camp or repair will be organized according to terrain conditions. No refund or deduction can be requested due to breakage, failure or immobilization related to the raid.
Preparing your trip
What is the best time of year to join a Can-Am raid in the Dominican Republic?
Raids can be organized year-round according to the published dates. December to April is generally drier. From May to November, rain is more frequent and may make the trails more technical; the itinerary is always adapted to conditions and group safety.
Which airport should I choose to reach Camp Can-Am?
El Catey–Samaná International Airport (AZS) is the closest airport to Las Terrenas. An arrival through Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata or Santiago can also be considered according to your flight and the transfer conditions confirmed with our team.
What entry formalities are required for the Dominican Republic?
Requirements depend on your nationality and passport. Always check the current rules with the Dominican authorities, your consulate or airline. Every passenger must complete the electronic E-Ticket for entry to and departure from the country.
What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
Contact our team by WhatsApp as soon as possible. We will review how the welcome and transfer can be adjusted to your new arrival time and the available logistics.
Can I extend my stay before or after the raid?
Yes. You can add nights in Las Terrenas or continue travelling in the Dominican Republic. Additional lodging and transfers are included only when they appear in your confirmed quotation or itinerary.
Participation requirements
Are there any medical or physical restrictions?
The raid requires a good general level of fitness and is not recommended during pregnancy or in case of significant back, heart or other medical contraindications. Ask your doctor for advice before booking if you are unsure.
Is there a maximum age for participating?
Drivers must be at least 18 and hold a valid car driving licence. There is no fixed maximum age: physical condition, behaviour and successful completion of the ability assessment are what matter.
Do I need to speak French?
No. The team welcomes participants in French, Spanish and English. Essential safety instructions are explained in a language the participant understands.
Price, groups and organization
Why does a RAID CARAIBES SSV raid cost this amount?
The price covers a fully organized premium off-road stay: a 2026 Can-Am Maverick R X RC, selected lodging, meals, scheduled transfers, fuel, equipment, a professional guide, trail support and photos. In the Dominican Republic, each machine represents an investment of more than USD 100,000 depending on importation, configuration, equipment and preparation.
How many participants and buggies are in each group?
Groups are intentionally kept small to preserve the quality of guidance and support. The exact number of participants and buggies depends on the departure date, registrations and chosen configuration.
Can you organize a corporate or private event?
Yes. From three drivers, each with a private buggy, a raid can be organized on custom dates for a company, a group of friends or a special event, subject to availability and logistical feasibility.
Comfort, payment and insurance
Will I get dirty, and what clothing should I bring?
Yes. Mud, dust and water crossings are part of the experience. Bring durable clothing, closed shoes, sun protection and a change of clothes. The jersey, balaclava, helmet and eye protection are included in the participant kit.
Can dietary requirements and allergies be accommodated?
Yes. Tell us as early as possible so the team can adapt the planned meals within local possibilities. For a severe allergy, also provide the necessary precautions and treatment information.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Payment can be made by card, bank transfer, Western Union deposit or cash according to the terms confirmed with the team. The booking is confirmed once the 50% deposit has been received.
Do you recommend travel cancellation insurance?
Yes. Because the 50% deposit is non-refundable, we recommend personal insurance covering cancellation, trip interruption, medical expenses and repatriation according to your situation.
